How to get started quickly with RIFE

RIFE/Jumpstart

Download RIFE/Jumpstart, it is sub-project of RIFE that allows you to unzip one archive and have a working development setup running in a matter of seconds. If you like to try things out easily and immediately, that's the way to go.

End-to-end article explaining the creation of a read-only blog

As a contribution to Simon Brown's series of articles where he compares Java web application frameworks, we created a RIFE version of the read-only blog that currently serves as an example.

Tutorial video sessions

The theater section contains tutorials and in-depth development session videos that show you step-by-step how to achieve certain results. Watching them is a good way to get an idea of the general feel of RIFE and to see how its features are used in context.

Wiki Cookbook

The wiki contains a very helpful cookbook that has information about all the features that have been added in the past year. Make sure to read it along with the user's guide!

The examples

You can download an examples archive that contains a number of web applications that demonstrate some of RIFE's features. These examples are also running online at http://rifers.org/examples. Make sure to read the installation instructions if you try them out locally!

All the source code of the examples has additionally been converted to highlighted HTML to make it easy to browse them online. Just click the 'browse source' link next to every example.
