I branched out RIFE/Jumpstart as a basis for RIFE/Contrib: I already gave everyone that has commit rights on one of the RIFE modules, the same rights for this new repository. If you are already a committer, you can just check out RIFE/Contrib and add your code to it. If you have code that could be interesting for anyone else but have no access, feel free to send me a login and password privately, and I will add you to the committers of RIFE/Contrib after I've seen the patch for your first contribution. The guidelines are simple:
I'm not going to be the gatekeeper for this new module and it's up to all committers to open up an eye and try to uphold the quality of the contributed code. Once in a while I will browse through the repository though. If I see too much code that doesn't respect the guidelines, I will contact the committer in question. If the code isn't up to standard when a release is made, it will be deleted. Let the coding begin! |

I recently created a whole collection of useful code templates and file templates for doing RIFE development with IntelliJ IDEA. When using them during my presentation at JavaZone 2006, people asked if they could download them. I made them available on our download section: Have fun! |

I just finished my RIFE presentation at JavaZone 2006 and I think that it went really well. However, even though I deleted 1/3rd of my original presentation to shorten it, I still went 20 minutes over time and had to skip certain parts. Luckily, after I said to people that they should feel free to leave, most of them stuck around to hear more about continuations and see the demos. For those that are interested in the RIFE development experience with real life demos, you can download all the material of my presentation, including the pre-recorded demos and packaged sources of the examples: https://rife.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=5955 I'm really enjoying JavaZone, it's surprisingly well organized, the quality of the speakers is excellent and Oslo is an awesome town. I hope to come back next year. |
