Cenqua provides FishEye and Clover for java.net

I just saw this today:

Cenqua supports java.net with free licenses for Clover and free hosting for FishEye.

Clover is a comprehensive code coverage tool for Java. If you wish to use it on your project, first grab a trial license see if it is for you, then fill in the free license request form (registration required).

If your source is hosted at java.net you can get FishEye for your project simply by sending a mail to fisheye-hosting@cenqua.com. We just need to know if you are using CVS or Subversion. java.net CVS projects live at http://fisheye5.cenqua.com and and Subversion projects are at http://fisheye4.cenqua.com.

This is great! Together with the recent support of Subversion, the only thing that's missing from java.net is a decent issue tracker, like Jira.

Interview with Artima Developer : The Philosophy of RIFE

artima developer logo

Frank Sommers has interviewed me and published this as an article on the Artima Developer site.

I really like how he has summarized and grouped my answers. Imho, the article gives an excellent introduction and overview of RIFE.

Facebook uses RIFE to demo development platform
facebook
Facebank

Facebook launched its development platform yesterday and includes Facebank as a demo of what is possible.

According to Wikipedia, Facebook is a social networking service that is used by 85% of all college students in the United States. It is the 7th largest site in the US and even tops flickr in terms of photo uploads. Rolling Stone even calls Facebook the hottest site on the web.

FaceBank is a virtual tracker of how much money you and your friends owe each other. Its purpose is explained in their 'about page' with a short example of how it works.

More interestingly though, the technical details clearly endorses RIFE as being an excellent framework. They even include the custom authentication system that was written to integrate RIFE's authentication system with the facebook development platform and log users in with their regular facebook credentials.

This is a wonderful public acknowledgment of RIFE's uprise as one of today's Java frameworks of choice.
