RIFE is today's eWeek application development Breaking News

RIFE seems to be in the news more and more often, and today eWeek published an article about the TSSJS talk from last week.

After the presentation, Darryl Taft stepped up to me and we talked for about half an hour about topics that he could use in his article. It's nice to see that he succeeded in mixing the information from various sources into a consistent article.

You can read and comment on the article at eweek.com.

Re: RIFE is today's eWeek application development Breaking News
hi geert,

Are there any books about RIFE (especially continuations) ? The killer
feature for a java web framework would be good IDE integration of continuation
features!!

I was wondering why some people use Jetty instead of the popular Tomcat ?
Not to say that everyone should be using Tomcat(or the most popular one).

Also, do you know the performance characterestics about the webserver in GlassFish (which uses NIO) ?

Thank you,

BR,
~A

Hi Anjan,

there are 2 books about RIFE in the works, in a couple of months the first one will be released.
About IDE integration, none is needed, everything continues to work. RIFE continuations are in pure Java and you can use the standard IDE's debugging, refactoring and introspection features. A screencast about debugging can be seen here: http://rifers.org/theater/debugging_continuations

I have no real-world experience with GlassFish, sorry.

Best regardsn

Geert
